Lynda Edens

 Lynda Edens

Lynda Edens joined the team at IB in 2001 after five years of experience as an IT specialist and office manager. As an instructor at IB, Lynda's responsibility and expertise is in teaching computer skills to the blind and visually impaired. In her position she has co-authored the assistive technology curriculum used by IB and has also trained the other Assistive Technology department team members.

Lynda began her career as a school teacher, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.  However, as her interests changed and the computer field rapidly expanded, she returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Troy University.

An important aspect of her life is her family -- her husband Billy, a flight test manager for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics; her daughter Shonda a veterinarian at Auburn University; her son-in-law Jimmy, a Quality Engineer with Briggs & Stratton; her son, Shannon, an advertisement developer and team manager for a real estate firm in Chicago; and her soon to be daughter-in-law, Christie, a marketing researcher in Chicago.

An important involvement for Lynda is in missions construction trips to foreign countries through her church.  Since 1999, she has participated in thirteen of these rewarding projects.  In addition to this, Lynda loves bike riding, fishing, and watching sunsets.
