Leigh Hoskins

Leigh Hoskins is the Transition Specialist for Independence for the Blind of West Florida. Leigh is a local Pensacolian and graduated from B. T. Washington High School. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham Southern College. While in college, Leigh’s studies and volunteer experiences strongly encouraged social activism and community involvement. Leigh has held various positions in church settings and preschools. At one time, Leigh was the director of Trinity Learning Center, a local full time Department of Children and Family licensed childcare facility. After becoming blind due to a genetic disorder, Leigh became a client of DBS and IB West. In February 2009 she began working with the Transition Program with the support of her husband Jeff, three children Chandler, Camille, and Fletcher; extended family; and IB West.
