Super Lube fund-raising event to help the visually impaired

Super Lube is helping the visually impaired to obtain independent living skills training by raising funds for Independence for the Blind of West Florida's transportation fund.

Donations of $1 to $5 are being accepted at all Pensacola-area Super Lube locations.

In return, customers will be allowed to personalize a card to hang in the Super Lube store throughout the fun-raising campaign.

The blind and visually impaired seek training from Independence for the Blind of West Florida, a nonprofit agency, to learn skills such as reading Braille and walking with white canes.  Other services include training in computers, employment and child development.  Services are provided free of charge and costs of community transportation are reimbursed to the blind, many who have low or fixed incomes.  the fund-raising campaign began Thursday at all 11 Pensacola-area Super Lube locations and will run until the organization's goal of $6,000 is met.
