Julian B. MacQueen

Born in Birmingham, AL, Julian graduated from The University of South Alabama with a B.A. in Psychology.  The MacQueen family has lived in Gulf Breeze since 1986. (Taking three years off to do volunteer work in Haifa, Israel).

He is the president and founder of Innisfree Hotels Inc., a hotel development, and management company that owns and operates a collection of hotels in the Southeast.  Innisfree employs about 700 people with 13 locations and various flags like Hilton, Holiday Inn, Quality Inn, and Best Western.  His  professional memberships and affiliations include: 

  • Board Member and  Stockholder: Beach Community Bank, Pensacola, Florida

  • Florida’s Western Gate Economic Development Council (FWG-EDC)

  • Blue Ribbon University of South Alabama Alumni Advisory Council for the Governor

  • University of West Florida College of Business Advisory Council – Financial Resource Committee

  • Board Member and former charter Chairman of the Independence for the Blind of Northwest Florida

  • Secretary for the North American Brain Injury Society

  • 2004 Honorary Commander of 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base

Julian and Kim MacQueen have two Children: Jonathan and Skye

Jonathan who is 31 graduated from Georgia Tech with honors in Mechanical Engineering. He has been a full time actor in New York City for the past 5 years, along with his wife, Jennifer, who is a choreographer, actor, and exceptional tap dancer.  They recently moved to Atlanta.

Skye is 23 years old and she just completed her AA degree at University of West Florida. She wants to either be a Psychologist and work with Brain Injured clients or a business person and take what I have done and turn it into some real money. 

Kim, his wife of 25 years, is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and received her masters in Psychology from UWF. She is a psychotherapist specializing in marriage and the ‘Couple’s Journey’.  She is currently attending Landegg Academy in Rorschach, Switzerland part time while working towards her doctorate.

Most of Julians free time is spent restoring and flying a recently purchased 1943 antique flying boat, a Grumman Widgeon G-44.  When time allows he likes to travel outside of the U.S. and in British Columbia where they have a house on Saltspring Island.
